About the event:

Liver Music are preparing another great blues evening, it’s the 127th Prague International Bluenight, taking place in Lucerna Music Bar. Jack Broadbent, the “slide guitar master”, from the UK and Toronzo Cannon, a top bluesman from Canada, will be holding two separate concerts.

Jack Broadbent from Lincolnshire grew up listening to Neil Young, Peter Green, Joni Mitchel and Robert Johnson. These rock, folk and blues legends influenced his writing and performances that have a heart, depth, warmth and, above all, great energy. A unique folk and blues inspired blend of virtuous playing on an acoustic slide guitar and a sharp vocal could be heard by thousands of people attending Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Hallyday, Robben Ford or Tony Joe White concerts that were opened by Jack. He has released four albums so far and another one should come out this summer.

Toronzo Canon got into music quite late. He bought his first guitar when he was 22. First it was reggae and later he studied music of the greats such as Buddy Guy, B. B. King, Al Green or Jimi Hendrix. Since 1996 he played in several bands and in 2001 his own The Cannonball Express was founded. They have made three albums, the last one called John The Conqueror Root which was nominated for Blues Music Award. Toronzo’s fourth album called The Chicago Way was the first released at Alligator Records and received the most attention. It was voted #1 Best Blues Album by the British magazine MOJO as well as Living Blues magazine. The album Cannon was nominated for four Blues Music Awards in 2017. Toronzo plays with his heart. His biting and singing guitar playing is absolutely original. He has fought for his place on the scene and toured the world, all that thanks to his great talent, hard work, countless hours of practise and longing for success. It is his style, the only way he knows, the Chicago way.
