The Libertiones will will mark 20 years since the release of the band’s seminal debut album Up The Bracket.
Carving a space in the mainstream in the early 2000s for their ramshackle indie guitar sound, The Libertines have mainly been a touring band since they reformed in 2014. Their last album Anthems For A Doomed Youth was released in 2015, and since then they’ve headlined the British Summer Time Festival, played massive arena tours, and opened a boutique hotel and dining room in Margate called The Albion Rooms. Meanwhile, co-frontman Peter Doherty has engaged himself in a wide variety of solo projects and kicked his notorious drug habit.
