Primal Scream is going with their new record on tour and one stop is also in Prague! Their 10th studio album came out 13th of May 2013, with special guests like Robert Plant, Mark Stewart and Davey Henderson. Primal Scream is a Scottish alternative rock band, founded in 1982 in Glasgow by Bobby Gillspie and Jim Beattie. The current lineup of the band is: Gillespie (vocals), Andrew Innes (guitar), Martin Duffy (keyboard), Simone Butler (bass guitar) a Darrin Mooney (drums).
The band performed throughout 1982-1984, but their career did not take off until Gillespie left his position as drummer of The Jesus and Mary Chain. The band were a key part of the mid-1980s indie pop scene, but eventually moved away to more psychedelic and then garage rock influences, before incorporating a dance music element to their sound. Their 1991 album Screamadelica broke the band into the mainstream. Critics say, it is one of the best albums ever, the band even got the first Mercury Music Price for the album. Also for their latest album More Light they got good critics. Neil McCormick of the Daily Telegraph gave a positive review of the album, describing it as “mesmerising” and containing “big, monstrous, mantra-like, psychedelic grooves”
