King of the Beats is a DJ collective made up of dance music legends Plump DJs, Freestylers, and Krafty Kuts. They are long-time friends who have collaborated on recordings and events and traveled together to many cities and continents. It was only a matter of time before they met behind the mixing desk and a joint project was born.

In 2020, during lockdown, when it was only possible to work in groups of up to six people, they came up with the idea of using the legendary London party boat The Dutch Master, which – like the rest of the world – was waiting to reopen. After a phone call with the captain, they set sail on the River Thames, where they played loud beats. When the police stopped them, they explained that they were recording DJ sets in accordance with the rules. The officers wished them good luck and let them continue. Under the sun, with people waving on the shore and curious glances from the windows, the DJs played with their backs to each other and agreed: “We should do this more often.”

We can look forward to a powerful set that will take us on a musical journey full of breaks, funk, hip hop, and rave.
