Brand new album Get Tragic by British duo Blood Red Shoes was quite a nightmare from the beginning. Making of the record took a bloody long time, Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell hated each other after the last tour and the band was really close to break up.
When they decided to record new album, they had to face several serious problems – with the chosen place for recording, with the Laura’s broken hand or with the bad managers. But after all, things had changed. Because of the broken hand, Laura could grab a keyboard instead of guitar and also start to sing a lot more. They went to LA to work with Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Arcade Fire / Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) and thanks to him the new record is much more melodic and synthesizer-oriented than their previous four albums were.
