Aiko is a pseudonym for Alena Shirmanová, a singer and producer who is representing the Czech Republic at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden. On this occasion, she and her band will go on a European tour this autumn, during which they will perform in the UK, Denmark, Holland, Spain, Switzerland – in most European countries. In addition to the competition track Pedestal, the concerts will also feature new tracks to be released later this year. The first swallow is the summer banger “Hunger”, which Aiko recorded with singer Teya – the Austrian representative from Eurovision 2023. Aiko’s new EP will be released in May and we can look forward to a few more singles before the tour starts.

Aiko has been on the music scene for many years and has been on stage since 2015 not only in the Czech Republic but also worldwide. She started her singing career in the Czech and Slovak SuperStar competition in 2015. In 2018, she released her first album “Aiko”, 2020 came with the album “Expiration Date” and the third album “Fortune’s Child” saw the light of day last year. In 2022, she won the Wave Czeching Radio talent contest and has already managed to play at Great Escape, Eurosonic, Grape, Rock for People and Metronome festivals, supporting stars like Alice Merton and Tamino.
