XIII. století at Lucerna Music Bar. The March Violets will round out the dark evening

Czech gothic rock legends XIII. století are returning to Prague this fall. On October 27, 2026, they will fill Lucerna Music Bar with their signature sound and intense concert energy, which remains as powerful as ever after more than three decades. The evening will feature special guests—the British band The March Violets, who will bring the authentic essence of first-wave gothic rock.

For more than three decades, XIII. století has been one of the pillars of the Czech gothic rock scene. Since 1990, when the band rose from the ashes of Hrdinové Nové Fronty, it has built an exceptional reputation not only at home but also abroad. Their concerts have long been synonymous with a powerful atmosphere, an intense connection with the audience, and a masterful journey through their entire discography—from the cult classic *Amulet* through the seminal *Nosferata* to their more recent work.

The band’s current live performance is exceptionally compelling. The Štěpán brothers, bassist Mirek “Palda” Paleček, and keyboardist Andrea Kožená perform on stage with a seamless chemistry, energy, and confidence that comes only with years of experience. Every Prague performance confirms that XIII. století is not just a relic of the past, but a living force of the present.

However, this autumn evening will offer one more extraordinary moment. The special guests will be the famous British gothic band The March Violets. Formed in the mid-1980s in Leeds, this British group is among the pioneers of the first wave of gothic rock. Their characteristic harmonies, hypnotic rhythms, and dark yet melodic guitar work have made them a cult name in the genre. Songs like “Snake Dance,” “Walk Into The Sun,” and “Deep” remain staples of club sets across Europe to this day.

The pairing of a Czech gothic icon and a British legend promises an evening that will offer more than just a typical concert. The meeting of these two prominent figures of the scene at Lucerna Music Bar hints at an atmosphere that will be a fitting continuation of this year’s Prague chapter.
