Rhytms and melodies of the roots reggae can be soon heard in Prague’s Lucerna Music Bar this August! The music band Groundation belongs together with SOJA to the absolute base of current overseas reggae scene. Their music is influenced by everyday life as well as rastafari spirituality. Groundation will perform for the first time ever in Czech Republic during their European festival tour on August 12 at Lucerna Music Bar. „If you don’t know your past, you don’t know your future,“ is a statement that captures Groundation’s music fully. The internationally acclaimed Groundation takes pride in the fact that they inspire themselves strongly from genuine basis of reggae, while they still aim to move this genre forward. Their music is a mixture of jazz, funk, and transcendental dub elements. Some call their style progressive reggae.
The band derived its name from the “groundation“, the Rastafarian ceremony of identical name. This ceremony is actually about ancestral gathering which aims at reaching a common vibration through the positive power of prayer and music. That’s exactly what is happening between the band and its fans at the life shows! The nine members of Groundation were during the whole period of their 15 years of existence very active. They have released 7 studio albums and organized 14 world tours. This show will be their historically first stop in Prague. Don’t miss Groundation on August 12 at Lucerna Music Bar!
