Untamed Dune Rats are heading to Lucerna Music Bar

The untamed rock band Dune Rats was in Prague about two years ago and the memories of their performances are still vivid. Not only did they sell out Futurum in Smíchov, but their fans almost tore it down. No wonder, Dune Rats just serve up a crazy blast. They released a new album in August and are going on a European tour with it, during which they will also visit Prague. How could they not!

Dune Rats show with their new record that they refuse to grow up. Let alone grow old. They show it and prove that it’s not necessary. In a world that is itself overly serious and full of seriousness and problems, a band like Dune Rats is a treat for the soul. A caress for the teenage soul that anyone – with a little effort – can find within themselves. This Aussie trio needs to find their adult souls more, but that’s what their music is all about. Dune Rats are rambunctious, pouty, joyful, and all of this is terribly infectious in their delivery. And the new record is full of it.

It’s called If It Sucks, Turn It Up and the eponymous opening track starts like this: “Have you heard their new stuff?” – “Yea, it sucked.” Don’t worry. It doesn’t. It really doesn’t. It’s a great record full of what we want and expect from Dune Rats. It’s fun, it’s original, it’s a middle finger to convention and an honest combination of punk rock, hard rock and pop punk. You can’t put it in one box. And that’s good!

During the evening, British Snake Eyes will perform as support. If you don’t know them yet, you can think of them as the younger cousins of Dune Rats. Younger and British. Genre-wise, it’s alternative rock with a bit of pop punk, punk rock and gritpop – it’s kind of the second wave of Britpop. Well just something you want to see and hear on the same night as Australia’s Dune Rats, because it complements them perfectly and gets you pumped up. Don’t miss out!
