New Model Army will arrive on 13th of October!

The word “legend” sounds so heavy and serious, totally the opposite of what New Model Army in fact is. But is there another word to describe them? Not many bands can look back at 30 years on stage, with fans in many generations, like the quartet from England can do. This year they release their 12th Studio album – “Between Dog and Wolf”. The self-produced set was finished earlier this year in Los Angeles with Joe Barresi mixing, (Soundgarden, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool). The album is scheduled for release in September. Justin Sullivan says: “After a series of purist ‘rock-band-in-a-room’ albums over the last eight years, we felt it was time to do something a bit different and sonically this is the best album we’ve ever made. The title comes from a medieval French expression for dusk – when it’s hard to distinguish between dog and wolf, friend or foe. That sense of contradiction represents the band very well and there’s also something of this sense of transformation in the album”.

New Model Army came together in 1980 in Bradford, in the North of England. The band around Justin Sullivan survived the 80s, the 90s and the death of the drummer Robert Heaton – and they are still moving forward. The legendary albums from the 80s, like “Thunder And Consolation“ (1989) or „The Ghost Of Cain“ (1986) became punk classics. The sound of New Model Army, where rock and folklore meets nontraditional rhythms in a very original way, founds their ways also in „Between Dog And Wolf“. You can experience the power of their legendary live concerts on 13th of October in Lucerna Music Bar!
