Frank Turner is returning to Prague with his band The Sleeping Souls on April 14th. He will perform his sixth album Positive Songs for Negative People released August 2015. British band Ducking Punches will be the opening act. Presale ends April 14th at 6PM. Box office price is 550 CZK.
Frank Turner was former singer of post-hardcore band Million Dead. He started his solo career in 2006 and released 6 albums since then. You can still hear his roots in heavy music, but his solo work is more based in folk and punk. You can here this mixture also on his album Positive Songs for Negative People which Frank described: “Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about debut albums. When a band makes a debut record, they essentially roll into the studio and play through their extant live set. There’s freshness, an excitement to it that bands often lose as time goes by. I wanted to try and make a record that had that young, exciting feel, full of piss and vinegar”. And you can bet Frank’s live shows are breathtaking, he was even awarded by Best Live Act AIM Award in 2011. If you are still not convinced ask someone who visited Frank’s last Prague gig two years ago, they didn’t forget…
