On Tuesday, 12th of March, will be a great ska-reggae party at the LMB: Dr. Ring Ding is coming with his new album and a new band Ska-Vaganza! The whole show will be supported by the Prague band The Chancers and at the turntables will be DJ Buqi from Rudeboy Rhythm. belongs to the veterans of the German music scene. His characteristic “deejay style” is not only known in the European reggae and dancehall scene, but is also very popular in the rock steady and ska scene. Already in 1987 he played the trombone and sang in the ska band El Bosso & di Ping Pongs and in 1992 he came up with his own band Dr. Ring Ding & Senior Allstars. Their debut album Dandamite sparked in Germany the interest in Jamaican ska. Ring Ding not only expended to other genres, such as dancehall, jazz, chanson or crossover, but also worked with many legends, like The Skatalites, Lee Perry, Derrick Morgan, Judge Dread, Laurel Aitken, The Pioneers, Rico Rodriguez or Dennis Alcapone. Ten years after the “senior allstars”, Dr. Ring Ding devoted himself to a solo reggae/dancehall project. He came up with a new band Ska-Vaganza and in November 2012 he released a new album Piping Hot, with which he is coming to Prague!
The Chancers are an international band, headquartered in Prague. They released 4 albums, many EPs and were on tour in whole Europe, with the success not only in Czech Republic, but also in Germany, France, Switzerland and Great Britain. During their 15 years they shared the podium with The Selecter, Bad Manners, The Hotknives, The Expoited, Panteón Rococo and many more. The new album “The Chancers Age of Rudeness” (2011) was recorded in Prague and Glasgow and is definitely a must have, not only for ska fans.
