Asian Dub Foundation is a musical phenomenon you’ll recognize by its unique combo of electronics, hard-hitting ragga-jungle rhythms, dub bass, guitars inspired by South Asian roots and traditional sounds from “my parents’ music collections”. It’s all laced with fast-paced rap and political lyrics. There are also a number of unconventional musical instruments and, as the icing on the cake, all kinds of ubiquitous references and inspirations from many continents. This band definitely has something to offer.
They gained a solid reputation on stage in the mid 90’s and soon became known worldwide. They have shared the stage with such greats as Rage Against The Machine, Beastie Boys and Primal Scream. On their albums they have collaborated with Radiohead, Sinead O’Connor, Iggy Pop, Adrian Sherwood and Chuck D.
