Two bands will open for Frank Turner

andrewjacksonjihad-170x170Fans of Frank Turner, who is coming to Prague on March 9, may rejoice over a double extra load of music. No less than two bands will open for him, and their folk-punk melodies will surely multiply the public’s anxiety before the main star joins the stage: the two bands are Andrew Jackson Jihad from USA and UK-based Ducking Punches. Andrew Jackson Jihad, the Phoenix-based four-piece formed in 2004 under the frontman Sean Bonnette. Since then, they released four full-length albums, more than ten EP’s as well as countless splits and other collaborations. They were appraised by both critics and fans for their approach to lyrics – the band sings most often about politics as well as social, religious or simply personal problems.

UK’s Ducking Punches, on the other hand, keep the pure folk-punk tradition and openly announce that music means all to them. Band members had played in various other formations but since 2010, they’ve been releasing exclusively under Ducking Tapes. Their latest album, “Dance Before You Sleep” is out mid-February. In Prague, the album will be introduced by its frontman, Dan Allen, who is coming to perform a solo gig.

Both brilliant bands will perform on March 9, 2014 at Prague’s Lucerna Music Bar opening for the British star Frank Turner. Originally a hardcore musician, Frank Turner can’t hide his influences but he now devotes most of his energy to folk punk. The public’s darling has already collaborated with such stars as My Chemical Romance, Bruce Springsteen or even Johnny Cash; he was invited to join the London Olympics Opening Ceremony in 2012.

Don’t miss the chance to see his spectacular show featuring two more smashing bands that will take place 9th March at Lucerna Music Bar. Tickets are still available for 440,- + fees at the Ticketpro offices or at Lucerna Music Bar website. Tickets without fee available at the cash desk of Lucerna Music Bar.
