Aiko is a pseudonym for Alena Shirmanova, Aiko is a singer and producer, this year’s representative of the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden. On this occasion, she and her band will embark on a European tour this autumn, playing in the UK, Denmark, Holland, Spain, Switzerland and most European countries. In addition to the competition track Pedestal, the concerts will also feature new tracks to be released later this year. The first swallow is the summer banger “Hunger”, which she recorded with an Austrian singer named Teya – the Austrian representative from Eurovision 2023. Aiko’s new EP will be released in May and we can look forward to a few more singles before the tour starts.
Aiko has been on the music scene for many years and has been on stage since 2015, not only in this country but also worldwide. She started her singing career in the Czech and Slovak SuperStar competition in 2015. In 2018, she released her first album “Aiko”, in 2020 she came up with the album Expiration Date and the third album Fortune’s Child saw the light of day last year. In 2022 she won the Radio Wave Czeching talent contest and has already played at festivals such as Great Escape, Eurosonic, Grape, Rock for People and Metronome.
