After sixteen years, the Prague electronic band The Tchendos is releasing a new album called The Tchendos Meet the Universe. Since the first album Kill Death, the band has made a huge step forward. This is reflected in their new sound, in the variety of the recordings from slow downtempo tracks to fast danceable new disco songs and in the elaborate lyrics. At the launch they will present all the tracks from the new album, but of course there will also be the hits that have already made this Žižkov band dance to the roof of the packed Lucerna Music Bar several times.

The Tchendos are synonymous with the hedonistic Prague of the 90s: not only were they at the heart of everything that went on in Prague clubs – they themselves significantly shaped the whole scene! Whether as DJs or promoters of the first mythical house parties, or as classic figures from the first dance clubs. They have grown from a recessive breakbeat crew with a single sampler and a baby midi keyboard into a full-fledged concert ensemble that entertains club audiences with a rocking show. But not only that: it also takes on today’s “issues” such as political marasmus, racism and xenophobia. And always without a napkin. It is not for nothing that The Tchendos are spoken of as the true successors of the Czechoslovak underground!
