Legendary Blue Effect recorded in the early 70s two iconic LP records with a jazz orchestra called “Nová syntéza“. This timeless songs of the rock band are back on stage with big band on the 15th of March in the Lucerna Music Bar.
Lead by ace guitarist Radim Hladík, BLUE EFFECT were one of the major progressive bands in Czechoslovakia. They started out in 1968 with a couple of early R&B-oriented albums. However, the Czech governement strongly disapproved of English names at the time, so the band switched to MODRÝ EFEKT. After these two albums, their material veered towards jazz rock and by the early 80’s, following sereval personnel changes, their music had become a little less prog, more accessible.
40 years later the two synthesizes are back with a younger generation of musicians, only Radim Hladik stayed from the original setting, and with the Kyx Orchestra (conductor Roman Fišer). After two concerts in the 70s and two concerts in the last two years, we have finally the chance to hear the legendary records live on stage again.
