Dr. Ring Ding belongs to the veterans of the German music scene. His characteristic “deejay style” is not only known in the European reggae and dancehall scene, but is also very popular in the rock steady and ska scene. Already in 1987 he played the trombone and sang in the ska band El Bosso & di Ping Pongs and in 1992 he came up with his own band Dr. Ring Ding & Senior Allstars. Their debut album Dandamite sparked in Germany the interest in Jamaican ska.
