An absolute heavy metal legend. There is no other way to describe Saxon. Whether something is a legend or not is determined by various parameters, but there is no need to discuss it here. If you can think of anything, we guarantee that Saxon simply fulfill it. Award-winning albums, thousands of gigs played, millions of listens on streaming platforms, as well as millions of video views. Last but not least, they’re also always doing new things and they prove it on their current album Hell, Fire and Damnation.
Last time Saxon visited Prague as special guests of Judas Priest. And they were very special. They put on an absolutely fabulous show and it’s no wonder that fans were craving for their full-fledged concerts. Those who saw Saxon and especially those who didn’t get the chance. And so the Hell, Fire And Steel European tour is here, which will not only showcase the new album, but also pay tribute to the most classic one – Wheels of Steel, which will celebrate an incredible 45 years next year.
For Saxon, Wheels of Steel was a breakthrough album. A lot of music journalists call it THE album that every metalhead must know and have. It’s got grit from start to finish, it’s infectious, it’s full of all sorts of dense riffs that make it easy to tell the individual tracks apart – that’s how original they are. Motorcycle Man, 747 (Strangers in the Night), the title track Wheels of Steel – not only these, but all the tracks from this absolutely essential album will be played by Saxon during their upcoming tour. And there’s much more to come.
Singer Biff Byford says of the tour: “We’re thrilled to be heading back to Europe and want to take the opportunity to offer the fans something special. It’s been fantastic to tour with Judas Priest and we wanted to take the energy and spirit of those shows further into our own tour. And what’s better than playing the album that launched us into the world, in all its glory? We’ll of course be playing our traditional set of hits and other fan favorites, as well as stuff from the new album Hell, Fire And Damnation.”
There’s a lot to look forward to, so don’t miss this comprehensive and unique show!
