Brooklyn electronic duo Beacon for the 1st time in the Czech Republic in September

The Brooklyn duo Beacon, which is mixing electronic, modern R&B and soul, is coming fort he first time to the Czech Republic. On Wednesday, the 28th of September, they are performing in Prague’s Lucerna Music Bar to present their new album Escapements, which was released in February this year on the very known label Ghostly International.

Thomas Mullarney III and Jacob Gossett are unstoppable. The New York artists, collectively known as Beacon, have been on a productive hot streak since 2012. They met in Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute, where they studied art. Their production is a typical combination of dark R&B melodies and electronic. Their efforts continue to pay off. Their first release was the EP No Body (2011), four tracks influenced by electronic music, R&B and hip hop. In 2013 was the debut album The Ways We Separate released, which illustrates the two sides of Beacon – the vibrant electro music and Mullarney’s soft voice.

During The Ways We Separate is about the relations between people, the theme of the new album Escapements, which was released in February 2016 on the label Ghostly International, is time. Songs like Backbone, Cure or Escapements are showing the new profoundness and complexity of the duo. “I hope this record proves our restlessness and shows that we really aren’t content to have only one approach to creating music,” says Mullarney about the album Escapements and Gossett says: “We just tried to trust ourselves and not put limitations on what this record was supposed to be. In that sense, it’s exactly the record we were meant to make.”
