Prague International Bluenights is bringing after 3 years the great trio The Holmes Brothers back to Prague, so they can show their fans the legendary mix of gospel, blues, R&B and rock. The way of the brothers Sherman (born 1939, bass guitar, vocal) and Wendell (born 1943, guitar, piano, vocal) to the top was long, but not as spiny as we are used to read about lives of jazzmen. Born in Christchurch, Virginia, the brothers were used to music and taught to play many instruments already as little kids, Sherman even studied composition at the university. In the 60s they went to New York to try their luck and played next to great stars like John Lee Hooker and Curtis Mayfield. In the year 1968 they met Willie “Popsy” Dixon (born 1942, drums, vocal) and the trio The Holmes Brothers were born.
