David Lynch wrote and produced Chrysta Bell’s 11-song debut, This Train, released in 2011 as well as her acclaimed 2016 EP, Somewhere in the Nowhere. Evocative of Lynch’s film and television productions, both retro-tinged releases feature dark and airy musical soundscapes conjuring a dramatic atmosphere that allow Chrysta Bell’s sensual vocals and soulful melodies to take flight. “The first time I saw her perform, I thought she was like an alien. The most beautiful alien ever,” said David about Chrysta.
Chrysta Bell’s professional career as musician began after being signed by RCA Victor at the age of 18 as the lead vocalist for the popular Austin, Texas – based gypsy swing act, 8 ½ Souvenirs. In her four- year tenure with the band, Chrysta Bell delighted audiences on many North American tours and shared the stage with legendary musicians such as Willie Nelson and Brian Setzer.
