In the pioneer sound of the British bands Joy Divisions and New Order were always dominated by the bass line of Peter Hook. This allowed in the second half of the 70s to the band Joy Division to create this amazing sound. The depressive lyrics of singer Ian Curtis and his voice were found long time as the main character of the sad music of Joy Division. But without Hook’s bass line the songs would not pulse like they do. His technique to play the bass guitar always underlined the importance of the rhythm in punk rock and inspired a whole generation of dance-oriented bands.

After the suicide of Ian Curtis in 1980 Hook and other members of Joy Division founded the band New Order. On the first album Movement his guitar-sound got more melodic, when the band got more and more into the synthesized sound. Later he founded with David Potts the band Monaco and released the album Music For Pleasure in 1997. The song “What Do You Want From Me?” got a hit in clubs and on alternative radios.

In the same year (1997) he left the band New Order, after that he recorded two more albums with them. The formation Peter Hook and The Light was born. They play the two most important albums of Joy Division “Unkown Pleasure” and “Closer”. They were in Prague for the last time in 2012. We are very looking forward to hear songs from the album “Unknown Pleasures” and “Closer”, but also few songs from New Order.
