American legends Arrested Development are returning to Prague. These pioneers of alternative hip hop, who completely shattered preconceptions about what rap could sound like and be about in the early 1990s, will perform on September 17 at Lucerna Music Bar.<\/p>\n
At a time when mainstream hip-hop was dominated by aggression and gangster aesthetics, Arrested Development arrived with a completely different energy\u2014a mix of rap, soul, funk, gospel, and Afrocentric influences that, instead of bragging, addressed identity, spirituality, community, and social issues. Their debut album, *3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of\u2026*, catapulted the band into the ranks of the most influential names of their generation.
