Hooverphonic was formed in 1995 and quickly gained worldwide attention with the song 2Wicky, which was featured in Bernardo Bertolucci’s film Stealing Beauty. Their debut album, A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular, made them famous in Europe and the US.<\/p>\n
Over the years, their sound has evolved from trip-hop to rich orchestral pop, producing timeless hits such as Mad About You from the album The Magnificent Tree, which has become a classic. Hooverphonic are known for their cinematic arrangements, eclectic songwriting, and distinctive singer Geike Arnaert, who returned in 2020 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mad About You with a new version. In 2024, the band returned to its electronic roots with the album Fake Is The New Dope, inspired by the sound of the 1990s.<\/p>\n
