Lucerna Music Bar will host a concert evening entitled In Memory of Radim Hlad\u00edk. It follows on from last year’s sold-out performance by musicians associated with the bands Blue Effect and The Matadors, who are keeping alive the legacy of one of the most important guitarists in Czech music history.<\/p>\n
Honza K\u0159\u00ed\u017eek, singer of the last Blue Effect lineup, who returned to the project after eight years, will once again take the stage. He will be joined by his former bandmates \u2013 Vojt\u011bch \u0158\u00edha (bass guitar), V\u00e1clav Zima (drums), and Pavel Bohat\u00fd (vocals). The lineup will be completed by guitarists Adam Krofian and Roman Helcl and singers Tom\u00e1\u0161 Fr\u00f6de and Yannick Tevi. <\/p>\n
The evening will be opened by The Matadors, a band in which Radim Hlad\u00edk played in the 1960s and which is one of the absolute foundations of the Czechoslovak beat and rock scene. Songs such as Get Down From the Tree, It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue, and Indolence will be performed by the original frontman Viktor Sodoma, one of the key figures of early Czech rhythm and blues. Tribute Blue Effect will then offer Radim Hlad\u00edk’s major hits such as Rosenka, Slune\u010dn\u00ed hrob, M\u00e1 hra, Rajky, and \u010cajovna. <\/p>\n
The evening at Lucerna Music Bar will also kick off commemorative events for the 80th birthday of this extraordinary musician, which the music world will celebrate in 2026. Radim Hlad\u00edk’s life and work will be celebrated with a special limited concert series featuring the legendary albums Nov\u00e1 synt\u00e9za 1 and 2 in their original arrangements, supported by the CBC Big Band.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
