After the unforgettable performances of Young Fathers and Shabazz Palaces in previous years, the Strings of Autumns continue their exploration of contemporary hip-hop. This year\u2019s representative of the genre is the Californian artist Open Mike Eagle. Eagle\u2019s last album Brick Body Kids Still Daydream has been acclaimed as his most powerful recording yet, and Rolling Stone included it among its 50 Best Albums of 2017. The music is a political yet deeply personal elegy for the recently demolished housing estate in Chicago where the rapper grew up.
